Transforming Lives
Through Jesus Christ
Stewardship & Capital Campaign
We are talking about this expanded definition of stewardship and opportunities to give our talent, our time, and our treasure to the church in the upcoming campaign. For those who have come to know Christ, whose lives have been truly transformed by Christ, it comes down to this - stewardship is the careful and responsible management of three precious things – our talent, our time and our treasure.
God has entrusted all three to our care and like the servant in Matthew 25:14, the Parable of the Talents, we cannot hide our talents in the ground until Christ’s return. God has freely given all we have. In truth, while we talk about our homes, our money and even our talent, all of that, from a spiritual standpoint, is simply not true. Everything we have belongs to Christ, everything we enjoy has been given to us by Christ and, like any good healthy, reciprocal relationship we will want to give back in return.
Who hasn’t been in a romantic relationship or even a parent-child relationship and wanted to, out of our love, spend time with the object of our affection, share our gifts with our beloved, and of course, shower that person with our treasures.
Our relationship with Christ should be the same.
